Saara Ratilainen is Senior Lecturer at Tampere University. She has a PhD in Russian Language and Culture. She is a scholar of post-Soviet culture and media. Her research topics range from Russian print media and online fan cultures to the transformation of Russian cultural institutions and feminist critique of communication technologies. In this project, Ratilainen investigates the reception of Russian female writers from the perspective of digitalization of the literary institution, focusing on the role of online platforms as literary gatekeepers.
