Tintti Klapuri, Ph.D., is currently Senior Lecturer in Russian literature at the University of Helsinki and Adjunct Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Turku, Finland. Her fields of expertise are Anton Chekhov, fictional time and space, and transnational Russian literature.
In the project Klapuri focuses on the translation and reception history of the interwar period (1918–1939), looking at the ways in which, on the one hand, Finnish and Finland-Swedish female translators, critics and writers mediated Russian literature to Finland and how, on the other hand, Finnish and Finland-Swedish literature was mediated to Soviet Russia during the heyday of modernism. Klapuri’s research develops further her previous studies on the relationship between Russian and Finland-Swedish modernism.
